The Curse of the Metatarsal

Beckham set the fashion first (naturally), then came Gary Neville, Danny Murphy, Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney and now Michael Owen. The curse of the broken Metatarsal continues for England as Owen limped out of Newcastle's 2-0 defeat, and is due to be out for a minimum of 2 months.

The news is catostophic for an in-crisis Newcastle, but is also bad news for England. Owen shouldn't miss the finals in June, providing there are no complications, however when Gary Neville suffered a similar injury, he didn't return for 5 months.Not a reassuring sign...
