FIFA World Rankings - January
So, the not-at-all-arbitrary FIFA rankings have been released for January, and unsurprisingly there are a few strange results.
Most strangely, is Germany being in 17th, two places below that footballing powerhouse, Japan. Then there's Mexico and the USA in joint seventh, in front of footballing minnows England, Portugal and Italy. To round it off, the Czech Republic are 2nd - now they may be some people's (very) outside bet to take the World Cup, but honestly, are they really a better team than Argentina? The same Argentina who beat Brazil in qualifying?
The FIFA Top Ten International Teams
1 - Brazil
2 - Czech Republic
3 - Netherlands
4 - Argentina
5 - Spain
5 - France
7 - Mexico
7 - USA
9 - England
10 - Portugal
